When I think of the process of therapy, I like to imagine it is like holding a full-length mirror for the client and allowing them to create the image they would like to see. In considering who you would allow to hold that seemingly heavy mirror, I thought it might be helpful for you to know a little more about me.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have chosen this profession because I am passionate about how redirecting energy in unhelpful thoughts and emotions can be accomplished. I provide a different lens in a warm, comfortable, and non-judgmental environment where the client feels comfortable in processing their presenting issues. The space offered is designed to help the client leave the session feeling a greater sense of resilience, confidence, and balance. My therapeutic approach is Person-Centered intended to meet you where you are. I am a trained EMDR Clinician with additional training in other modalities to compliment my methods. I find the most joy in working with clients who have experienced trauma, grief, or loss. As I am a person of significant life experiences, I find honor in holding space with someone who is going through their own presenting issues.
My past experience has prepared me to work with a variety of issues and diverse populations. Survivors of abuse, LGBTQ+, the elderly in end-of-life issues, mentally challenged individuals, and those suffering from depression and anxiety, as well as victims of domestic sexual, physical, and emotional attacks, and addiction.

My undergraduate degree is from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln where I majored in Human Development and the Family. I eventually moved to New Orleans where I chose a new career in travel and entered the business world. When my son went to college I decided to return to my original career and become a therapist, receiving my Master’s in Counseling from the University of Holy Cross. My work has taken me beyond the world of Human Development and business to an understanding of end-of-life issues in Hospice and bereavement. I have also served clients who are considered marginalized and in private practice where I provide holistic therapy for a variety of clients from 18 to 81.

There are so many things I enjoy about the city that I consider home now, including festivals, the food, and mostly the diverse, enchanting people.

Holding space is a complex practice that I consider a privilege, especially when you are entrusting me with your story.
